Degree of machine contamination
The requirement for a high-pressure system is strongly determined by the degree of machine contamination. With the development of the following symbols we want to allow you to find out the right high-pressure unit with respect to the machine contamination level – more or less at a glance. Due to various possible flow rate and filtration configurations, our high-pressure units can be the right choice for multiple requests. Basically, we distinguish four different degrees of machine contamination resulting from the chip volume and chip types within your machining processes.
Degree of machine contamination (in relation to fine / rough chip) | High pressure filter concept (CL and CS) | Chip conveyor concept (combistream) | Process flow (empirical values) | Müller contamination symbols |
---|---|---|---|---|
Up to 30% fine chip volume | Exchangeable filter 25, 40 or 60 µm | BK10 / BK30 |
| |
Fine chip volume 30 - 50% | Exchangeable filter as twin filter 25, 40 or 60 µm | BK10 / BK30 |
| |
Fine chip 30-70% (high wool / whirly chip content, fine chips aluminium) | Automatic filter 30, 40 µm | BK30 |
| |
Fine chip volume 70% greater | Automatic filter 30, 40 µm | BK11 / BK31 |
| |
Fine chip volume 100% (fine chip brass, high milling content) | Automatic filter 30, 40 µm | BK31 |
| |
Very fine contamination (graphite processing, finest finishing, high occurrence of sludge) | Maintenance-optimised compact belt filter 25, 40 µm | BK31 |
